      ANDYSUZUKI
                        jazz saxophone

Born in Finland, Suzuki says his travels as a youngster helped open his ears to a world of
music. After a year in Finland, his family spent a few years living in New York City, Philadelphia
and New Jersey. He then moved to Japan for three years where he attended kindergarten
and grade school and began taking organ lessons. "Living in Japan, I was surrounded by
traditional Japanese music and that had a huge impact on me. My family also had a huge
influence on shaping my musical tastes. My mother is Finnish and she passed along a deep
appreciation for Finnish folk music while my father gave me his love for jazz and classical.
All of these diverse experiences inspired my love of world music, which is something I try to
incorporate into my playing and writing."        www.suzukisax.com

FineArtTV

jazz festival

The Saint-Germain-des-Prés Jazz Festival revives the
jazz spirit with multiple events. At the origin of this initiative,
Frédéric Charbaut, Donatienne Hantin and Joël Le Roy
(d. 2001) have a common wish to bring to life their lov
e of music in the spirit of freedom and tolerance. "It is very
important for us to be able to give voice to the musicians in
the best possible way; that is by making them feel at home
and offering them optimal conditions to be seen and to play"
confided Fredéric Charbaut during this 8th edition of the
festival. But it is not for the organizers to be redundant with
the programming of the numerous clubs and the other
concert halls in Paris.

At the heart of their concerns are innovation and discovery.
It is in that spirit of initiative and novelty that they have
organized the first concert of Norah Jones in France.

GeraldClayton
       pianist

"Gerald Clayton from California, also 22 and the son of the bassist John Clayton, came to destroy: his playing had
huge, authoritative presence, an Oscar Peterson-like style,
highly controlled touch and dynamics and rhapsodic,
episodic soloing. (The audience broke into applause during
his solo.)"

The New York Times

Victor Wooten redefines the word musician. Regaled as the most influential bassist since
Jaco Pastorius, Victor is known for his solo recordings and tours, and as a member of the
Grammy-winning supergroup, Béla Fleck & The Flecktones. He is an innovator on the
bass guitar, as well as a talented composer, arranger, producer, vocalist and
multi-instrumentalist. But those gifts only begin to tell the tale of this Tennessee titan.

Rob
Pagliari
                        Bassist

  Although he's played everything from
  stand-up to electric, Robby Pagliari's
specialty is the six-string fretless bass.
He developed and honed his unique
style as part of the influential Jazz-Rock
fusion band The New Yorkers, as well
as the gothic metal band Divine Rite.

Pagliari, known as "Pag," is a quiet man
who lets his soul speak through his
  instrument. Pagliari cites Cream's Jack
Bruce as the fundamental influence, as
well as the late Jaco Pastorius.
Robby's style is so individual and unique
  that it is absolutely unmistakable..

The songs that Cut Copy had collected in the period since Bright Like Neon Love arrived in
New York as promising bones of a more assured, song-based follow up. Upon encountering
Goldsworthy¹s approach to recording, which Dan revealed involved ³a lot of experimentation.
A lot of the time it was a matter of listening to where a track was at, then going over and
picking up a random piece of gear, or messing around with pedals and filter, and seeing what
you could get from it. Whether it ended up in the finished track or not, it was all a part of the
process, and it was a fun and experimental one.² This approach meant some sounds you
hear on the record are entirely unique and impossible to replicate. From the epic trance
breakdown in Far Away, to the sawtooth synth bass on Out There On The Ice, to when an
old radio receiver was plugged direct into the analogue desk for Voices In Quartz, these
sharp, succinct pop arrows to the heart are benefited from an array of special sonic sparkles.
